My client purchased this now closed old pub to renovate into a family home I was asked to put a water-proofing system in place for making the original beer cellar into a dry environment so his builder could make space for a gymnasium sauna and multi-media room this basement is still ongoing so limited photos of the finish.
The basement flooded heavily and had standing water in there before we started our work during enabling works and our client required a robust well designed basement waterproofing system as part of his build. I made a design and prepared a full specification report all to BS8202 for the effective basement waterproofing (tanking) as well as pre and post waterproofing construction works to the basement floor.
The basement waterproofing system consisted of the installation of a full Water-proof concrete slab full Cavity Drainage Membranes to the floor and walls (basement waterproofing) system with two twin integral automatic sump pumps and a battery back up to control ground water and a full discreet perimeter drainage system with jetting eyes maintenance ports to collect any water ingress at the basement perimeter. The basement waterproofing system was tested during and after installation to BS8102.
